What happens when you change the bike?

Move the saddle.

Change the frame.

Adjust the shoe.

Alter the equipment.

But what happens to the person riding it?

Until now, understanding that relationship has largely meant measuring, adjusting, observing, and repeating.

BUILD Bike Fit (Clinical) takes a different approach.

Powered by Velodynamics, a new custom-built application by Dr. Larry Meyer, our biomechanical platform allows clinicians to explore the relationship between an individual rider and their individual bike in real time.

Don't just learn what to change, learn why.

Meet Velodynamics

The biomechanical platform behind BUILD Bike Fit.

Every rider is different.

Different anatomy.
Different mobility.
Different strength.
Different limitations.
Different movement patterns.

And every bike is different, too.

Velodynamics brings the rider and the bike into the same picture, allowing students to work with individual rider and bike variables and visualize how those variables interact.

The result is a fundamentally different way to think about bike fitting.

Most fit courses teach a protocol.

BUILD teaches the mechanism.

Protocols have their place.

But when the rider in front of you doesn't behave like the chart, what happens next?

BUILD Bike Fit (Clinical) is designed to teach clinicians how to understand the chain of relationships between the rider, the bike, and movement.

Because when you understand the mechanism, the protocol becomes obvious.

And the exceptions stop being mysteries.

The bike isn't the whole story.

A rider may have limitations that cannot be solved by simply moving a component.

The body can change.

Sometimes it needs training.

And sometimes it simply needs to be accommodated.

That's why BUILD Bike Fit (Clinical) begins with the full biomechanics physical examination.

You don't start by forcing the rider into a position.

You start by understanding the rider.

The Fit Is the Measurement.

The Build Is What You Do About It.

A BUILD fit doesn't end when you've found a position.

It ends with a Build: a practical plan for what happens next.

01 · THE BIKE

What changed.
Why it changed.
What should be staged for later.

02 · THE BODY

The plan may address:

  • Strength

  • Flexibility

  • Joint mobility

  • Neuromuscular control

  • Neurological deficits

  • Balance deficits

  • Training errors

03 · THE ACCOMMODATION

Not every limitation can, or should, be trained away.

Some structural limitations are permanent. Some conditions create fixed boundaries. Some joints simply have a limit.

When the gap isn't going to close, the goal changes.

Build the bike around the rider.

The objective isn't to force every body toward the same target.

It's to determine what this rider needs, and build accordingly. This is bike fitting as a dynamic system, not a static set of measurements.

Two instructors, three decades of experience, one room.

BUILD Bike Fit (Clinical) brings together clinical depth and professional-level bike fitting experience.

The course is taught by instructors with complementary expertise, combining the clinical perspective of biomechanics and physical examination with decades of high-level bike fitting experience.

You're not just learning a set of measurements.

You're learning how experienced practitioners think through a fit.

Leave with more than a weekend of information.

Traditional fit training can be easy to lose once you leave the classroom.

BUILD is designed differently.

The course is paperless throughout. Your measurements, changes, and conclusions live within your platform account.

And your Velodynamics access continues after class, giving you a place to keep applying what you learned as you begin working with real riders.

The question isn't:

“Where should this rider sit?”

It's:

“Why does this rider move this way?”

Once you understand the mechanism, the position stops being a mystery.

Dr. Larry was super helpful in identifying the improvements in my bike component set-up that will relieve stress on my back, knees, ankles and shoulders, but also increasing my power and stamina while decreasing detrimental fatigue in my pain points usually from old injuries.

They really know what they’re doing. I came in for a bike fit after years of discomfort and other previous fits. I thought it was just part of riding to be in some level of pain. They listened to every concern I had and looked at way more than just the basics of a bike. More so, they were very nice and explained the reasoning behind every adjustment, as well as additional PT exercises you can do to make the experience even better. I didn’t realize how comfortable you could be on a bike. Their fit service is worth every dollar.

Build Sports Performance Lab and Physical Therapy has taken good care of me. It started with a bike fit on a triathlon bike, then on a road bike, then mitigating a pinched nerve. The team here is very responsive and cheerful. I love going to appointments.

Today was my second visit to Build with Dr. Larry Meyer, and I'm certain to be a lifelong fan. Dr. Meyer is unsurpassed in his ability to target the underlying causes of even the most complex issues. Then he goes above and beyond to treat the problem and send you home with a plan for further improvement. I'm finally optimistic that I might be able to not only resume my ultra running, but that I'll be stronger doing so.
